PostSubject: Highline Ham Fair   2012-08-26, 9:27 pm

I went to the Highline ARC hamfair last Saturday.

Good Points:
It was fairly good for a small hamfair.
Entry fees and Tailgate space was VERY reasonably priced too.
There seemed to be enough parking, and I found out this was just their 3rd hamfair.

IMHO: The direction signs could have been more plentiful and the few I saw could have been in better colors to stand out. (I was expecting very noticable colored "A" frame signs instead of hanging ones that blended in nicely with the real estate sales signs and the "Make money at home" signs. I wasted a considerable amount of time trying to find the site- Sad even with a GPS. Highline Ham club members please take note of this. Growing pains can be expected.)

The tailgate space was just enough, but I can forsee if this hamfair grows, they will definately need to find a larger site.

This was a fairly different crowd that normally attends.
I saw MANY new faces, and a few old friends too.
I spent little but got rid of about 200 lbs of heavy & bulky stuff. YEA!!! Cool Exclamation

Yes, I'll most likely go next year, weather permitting.

Can you Give us any additional information as to where is Highline in respect to Portland, or Seattle and do you have a calendar of events for the Club?

It was a bit south and west of SEATAC airport.
Almost directly under the landing path for the airport.
(Please type louder, I still can't hear too well from the jets passing overhead.) tongue

Heading From Seattle toward Fauntleroy Ferry, I remember there were a couple of Ham radio outlets, but suspect there gone now. Keep us posted of any other activities in the area.
