There is no message accompanying the photo, so I don't know if is a photo of your own unit or a photo downloaded from a Web site.

My first tube radio, which I purchased with my own money in 1947, was a Howard 901-A. I bought it from a nearby appliance store, which had displayed it in their window. I forget the price but it was something I could afford with money earned from my Detroit News paper route. From the beginning it had an annoying hum, although not so bad that it interfered with listening. Then, one terrible day, I knocked it over and it broke into several pieces upon hitting the floor. My grandfather, a skilled woodworker, made a new cabinet for it. I don't know whatever became of it. About three or four years ago I saw one for sale in an antique radio forum Web site. I bought it and restored it. It mainly needed a new oscillator coil as it was drifting badly. How surprised I was to see a color photo of it on the front cover of the current issue (Summer 2013) of The Michigan Antique Radio Chronicle.
