My name is Lawrence Gardner.  About a year ago I contacted you about a 1931 Pilco model 90-B "cathedral" table top radio that I inherited from my grandfather 30 years ago.  I have managed to get the cabinet restored and it looks great.  Although the radio was working just fine the last time it was plugged in (35 years ago), I understand that I should put new capacitors in it before I put it under load.  I'm no electronics wizard, in fact, I know nothing at all, so I'm looking for someone here in Utah who can help me get it up and running.  As I remember, there was a fellow in Logan but I don't have any contact info.  If you know the guy, please help me get in touch with him.  Also, I need to have the speaker redone as all the paper has rotted away.  If you or another member knows anyone in Utah that can help me, please give me their name and number.


I would greatly appreciate any help I can get on this.

Do you know what the cabinet wood is for a Philco 90?  Is the wood on the face different from the rest of the wood?

I'm your newest member.   I'm 69 years old.  I am the co-producer of an "old time" radio show that originates here in Spring City, Utah.  We are trying to get the show syndicated nationally. 

My reasons for joining is that I have inherited from my grandfather, a 1931 Philco model 90-B "cathedral" table top radio and I am very much interested in restoring it.  It was working fine 30 years ago when it was last unplugged but I am not an electronics wizard so I am looking for some one in the state of Utah who can help me service it.  I understand that I should put new capacitors in before plugging it in or I might blow my transformer.  DO YOU KNOW ANYONE IN UTAH THAT SERVICES ANTIQUE RADIOS?

If any member can help me find some one or ones, I would greatly appreciate it.
