Just put a price on it, Maybe $300-400 and see what happens. Maybe more if you know it works, less if it doesn't.

The SP-10 was only in production for 9 months and only appr. 500 were produced.  That alone I would think would make it pretty rare.  This one comes with the original power supply, and as I said, last I knew, actually worked.  If it doesn't work, it's just a matter of finding the bad tube(s) and replacing them.  $300-$400 seems to me to be pretty low considering later models are selling for as much as $2,000.

After looking at it more closely I'm pretty sure it isn't an SP-10.  However, it has no model number on it, it only says "Super-Pro" and it appears to be a transmitter as well as a receiver.  It also appears to be a military radio.  Hammarlund didn't make commercial transmitters until the 1950's, but I'm just about certain it isn't from that era.  I'm stumped now.  I will try and post a picture.

It has SC507A on the back of the radio, which means it was signal core, 1942.

So yes, $300 - $400 was a good estimate.

The price you finalize on will influence a buyers decision if it does or doesn't include shipping, which with the weight is really the biggest consideration in the transaction.  Good luck.

Ya, I'm not going to bother trying to sell this online.  There are antique dealers in my city that I will see if they are interested in it first.  The shipping on this would be astronomical.  Not to mention that tube radios don't ship well, I imagine.

Sir,
The radio is worth whatever a buyer is willing to pay,I personally would put an amount in your mind as to your lowest price and then entertain legitimate offers and sell to the highest offer that you are comfortable with,in my Humble opinion.73

I sold it through Kijiji to an ex-soldier who lived about two hours away.  Because he had to drive so far the price was a bit lower than I'd hoped.  $100 Canadian.  Not great, but we did need to get rid of it.

At least it's going to someone that won't trash it, and you made someone happy.
