EZ one here. As you know long wire type antennas are quite directional.
So if you have a few favorite radio stations you like to listen to in different parts of the world,
just find out how their antennas are polarized.
Many have gone to a vertical polarization, so find a handy tree limb or the side of a building and run a vertical wire for your antenna.
BTW- There is no rule engraved in stone that you can't also run the wire in an "L" or "V" shape after running it vertically too. I made one like that and it worked gangbusters!
