That recorder will be good for a lot of things. It has a 46X optical zoom and I was able to record another class with a close up of the screen image of the programming. It beats trying to take notes. I just got a transfer utility to make DVD's from the SD recordings. The only drawback is that the disc menu plays the silliest Christmas song. Loud. Ho, ho, ho, who do you know? Ho ho ho who do you know? Up on the rooftop click click click, down the chimney comes old Saint Nick

A friend of mine went into the local goodwill and found an early model satellite radio for $10. When he got it home it recieved beautifully, so we thought it might still have some time left on a contract. That was 2 years ago and it's still receiving! We think it was one of the early "lifetime" contracts that dies with the receiver.

I have gone back to the thrift store and have found more of the accessories for the camcorder hanging with the loose cables and such. The thing works great. I recorded a tutorial for some complex radio programming with it, showing the computer screen and presenting the dialog. I still need to get a A/V cable for it. There is one available in Singapore on Ebay.

I found a like new Panasonic hard drive camcorder that also records to SD cards for $4.00. It was missing it's battery charger. Found one on Ebay for $10. This weekend, I found a "atomic" wall clock for $4.00. It had bad problems. It's AA battery was dead. Put in a new one and cleaned it up. Good to go.
