We are alleged to be in prime territory here for the eclipse.  They are selling some kind of special glasses to view the eclipse at the store.  So, yes, I guess I'll be viewing the eclipse since it will be right on top of me.

Pretty close to its path, but when you've seen one then ???
people used to use smoked glass, or welding glasses, or make a cardboard pinhole and either project it unto a white sheet, or put some wax paper on the opposite end of the cardboard camera.

Or you could do what i did. while at work I mounted a dental inspection mirror outside of a window so that the sun's image was seen on a wall. Then as the moon passed by you could see it on the wall. I mounted a piece of paper and drew the outlines at 1 minute intervals, dated it and still have the copy.

True,,,,,but sometimes it's the circumstances of the event.   My excitement came when I connected with and old friend who is now doing some engineering for NASA.  He will be in Kentucky, filming the eclipse from above the clouds (should there be any) with a special balloon/camera desiged for this event.  He has invited me to attend!

As luck would have it, I was in London during the 1999 solar eclipse!  Hyde Park was full of people using the 2 pieces of cardboard method.

OH Yeah, Just remembered Another old trick was take a bunch of old film negatives and stack them on top of one another and do a look-see through them.
