The only difficult thing about tuning around these days is steering clear of the domestic stations.  You think you have an interesting and it comes out to be a rebroadcast.

Shortwave listening can still be fun sometimes.    I've been listening to WTWW 5085 Khz located in Lebanon TN.

This station caters to the Amateur Radio crowd and plays some great oldie music.

I'm not going down the road on religion, but I just want to warn you that this is a Christian based radio station on the chance that might offend any members.

Listening on that old vintage Magnavox is the only way to go.  There is someting special about tuning in on any old tube radio and smelling the heat from the tubes! Very Happy

I have a 50 Ft wire antenna set up with my 1947 Magnavox console, and I like to sit and troll the dial and see what I can find.  last evening I got The Voice Of Vietnam at around 5280 It came in just as clear as daylight reception from Atlanta 20 miles away.  It was their English world service.  The news reports were centered on Vietnam and seemed more for local consumption.  It looks like the best remaining SW stations are from current or former communist nations.  The broadcast was allright, but one could tell they are not catering to a broad audience.
