We got a shower......

No damage.  Just extra work and lost sleep.  It has been dry enough here before the rain that I have not been mowing but once a week.  I hear they are getting more rain in the SE again.

This has been a wet summer for much of the SE quarter of the country.

Agreed, I'm so tired of mowing the dran grass and getting nothing else done!

Our neighbor across the road had about three feet of water in their finished basement.  Their freshly waterproofed (to the tune of thousands of dollars) basement.  Ruined everything down there.  It seems one of the workmen left the downspout disconnected, it ran in their window wells and filled the basement with water.  Having window wells does not sound waterproof to me.  Their sump pump had the breaker shut off.  Live and learn, I guess.

This has been a wet summer for much of the SE quarter of the country.  Too bad your homes' integrity had to be tested in that way.  At least you now know where to correct it.

Actually, we got a FLOOD!  8.2 inches in a little under 24 hours.  I had an inch of water on my garage floor.  It was running under the garage door like it was not there.  The family room in the house got about an inch on the floor and the garage on the house got a wet floor, though not as much as the big garage.  I used our Hoover floor scrubber to suck water in the house and the shop vac in the garage.  We have porcelain tile floors in the house, so no real harm was done.  I need to check the caulking on the sill on the entry door to the family room.  Something there is not right.  The big garage is placed so that, when we get a "toad strangler" like last evening, I get water on the floor.  I squeegeed out the garage and have a fan running to dry things out good.
