Well my problem is that it is a tiny rotary switch, with both tabs and tabs with rivets.

Sorry Cliff. Never had the 'pleasure' of that task. With the experience you have at fixing radios, and the fact you're asking, it kinda makes me hope I don't ever get the chance too. Razz

What kind of switch is it? Got any photos of it?

Have you ever replaced a Zenith royal 400 switch/ or repaired it? If so How difficult to repair?
I bought the radio and posted on ARF, just asking.
