Don't think anyone could have blamed you if you had started using some of the same words that came out of the truck driver. Razz

A couple of days ago we had a new hospital bed delivered for my wife, well the truck backed into the driveway and hit the overhead power line. Our caregiver was watching them and started screaming for them to stop out the door. Alas they didn't hear and Pop, snap crackle, and the line was now only 2 feet in the air and sparking on the concrete drive. The Driver let out a big swear word that even I could hear inside the house, and pulled back out, the grass caught fire and it was promptly put out with a soda or ice tea. And the back of the truck now has welding marks thanks to the power lines. LOL
Of course we lost power, and the phone lines underground shorted out as the phone company uses the same ground connection at the house as the power, it melted the phone lines so our phones and our use of Life Line was tdriver herefore no longer working.

They driver was worried that the company would have to pay for all the repairs, now since it was still live wires we tried getting the power company but they have stupid recordings for every thing, but contacting a live person. So the fire department was called out and sent, they taped off the area across the street and our driveway. Six hours later the power company arrived and 45 minutes later power cable was replaced and no charge as it was not our fault. Just as the power company was leaving the phone company truck rolls up and phone line from our neighbor's house strung over trees and back to our house.

So now I am using a spare set of lines from our neighbor, but we won't get new phone lines for up to two weeks. But we got a recorded message from the phone company that service will be restored shortly (LOL) they also sent an Email survey asking if I would recommend service to others. I said I'm neutral on that because why would I recommend when they are a monopoly with no other competition. I also said that was a stupid question. Wonder how far that answer will go? LOL

Both the power company and phone companies have monopolies but were very fast in doing the repair work.
WHAT A DAY.
