Rules, Information, Registration Cliff Jones on Sat 27 Nov 2010 - 1:04 Welcome to our forum.
1st off rules are needed to make our forum run smoothly.
Here they are:
Any references that are of a commercial advertising nature will have to be approved before posting. Send Me a PM be sure to include price up front. If the posting is done without approval then that member will be banned. Posting Links: If you wish to show others an article, or free publication that's OK if its not an advertisement or Spam. If posting a forum that you belong to that is OK if it is infrequent. I am trying to make our forum viable, and keep our members active, if our members are drawn away, then that defeats the purpose of our forum- Which is to gain members.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Another issue If you wish to join our forum and don't get a verification back, look to make sure our acknowledgment isn't sent to your junk mail, or blocked by your provider. Also make sure your Email spelling is correct, as I cannot do anything on my end. It is also possible because of spam coming from your provider, may be a reason to be blacklisted by the forum, and I have no control over that. So I would suggest you obtain another free Email account, from a different provider, such as Yahoo, or GMail (Google). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Once you register and become a member after 5 postings in the forum you will be able to receive and send PMs (It was set at a default of 20) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have problems with your posting and using PMs be sure to delete all cookies, then close your browser, and restart. You may even have to close down your computer and restart. -------------------------------------------------------------- An error on my part: settings were to allow members only after Admin approval, I have changed that to automatic approval but added captcha(that's when you first register you would need to type in the graphic words or letters in order to continue to and complete and also help to screen out spammers) --------------------------------------------------------- The rules are basic. No Politics or Religion, and Show Respect. No: Personal Attacks, spam, pornography or lewd innuendos, swearing or foul language, threats or attempts to derail any postings. Do not Start more than one post (thread) on the same subject. Example of one post --Found Oldsmobile model A9A123 radio, 2nd post ---Oldsmobile radio model A9A123,whats wrong with it? 3rd post I need to find a schematic for Oldsmobile model A9A123 radio. Keep them all in the original topic or thread if you do not, I will remove them and PM you, more than once I will ban the poster. ---------------------------------- I have noticed a number of members don't do any postings. The Problem with that is forum software is setup to inactivate members to keep the forum database as small as it can. So if you don't post after 26 days or thereabouts you will get inactivated. I am looking into this problem, but haven't found a solution other than deleting members and having them re-register. I cannot modify the software to do otherwise. Bob reset and issued a new password for one member, but I bungled it up not knowing He had tried to Help. This is the first time we have run into the re-activation problem. So if you can't log in just re-register. and if you can't do that drop me a note. :affraid: --------------------- No multiple postings in different forums of same topic matter--- New rule, No multiple for sale postings in different forum topics. I have sent out a few warnings but will no longer warn the member, I will just remove the post(s) 2nd offense and I will ban the member. If you cannot abide by these posted rules I will no longer remind you of them. You have a responsibility, and if you think your an exception, I will show no favoritism. You have been warned. Any references that are of a commercial nature will have to be approved before posting. Send Me a PM be sure to include price up front. If the posting is done without approval then that member will be banned after second non-approved posting.
