Those are an 8V battery that , IIRC was used in the 70's.
Sadly I used up all my ones I had & didn't save the casings.
When I find one in my shop, an OEM, I will try to post a pix.

That sounds good Frank, as I work on a lot of Rogers, DeForest Crosley and Marconi radios .
Now if you can tell us where to get these 8 volt mercury batteries
and show some photos of the batteries that you take out  and use on the radios  that would be even better.
When I work on replacing these batteries it take s bit of work to replace them, and your idea would save a lot of time.
 Please post some photos

For the newer folks, meaning you are 40 or younger,
Many of the old radios had what was called a "Bias Battery".
They were typically in a weird looking wire contraption and the battery looked like an acorn , as best as I can describe it.

Now finding one these days is quite hard.
Fortunately they were about 1.5 volts and lasted  many, many years because of almost no current drain.

You can replace them with an AAA battery, or even a 1.5 v coin cell, but if you like original looking parts, I found that upon opening up an 8 volt mercury battery, the cells were identical to the original bias cells I ran across. You only need one of the individual cells, and they fit the battery holder in the radio exactly.
