There are really only two definitive methods for testing tubes which cover a wide range of parameters. One is the General Radio Vacuum Tube Bridge (the subject of that article) and the other is a curve tracer. The GR bridge was the standard method for creating characteristic curves back in the day. I own one of the GR bridges, but mine is older and simpler than the one in the article.

This is a one of Standards used in Tube testing for quality That will not Be Questioned. There is Always discussions of what manufacturers of most of these tube testers parameters are used. And published in tube tester books. This magazine is October 1945 even though the link below indicate October1944.
