I just found this site today, and the gentleman who is teaching basic stuff is very good with drawings and physical examples as he go's along.

He is quite clear and understandable in his teaching in this video, which shows how to test diodes.

I think this is, so far, a great site for beginners and good for refreshing us old guys too.
