See I told you I was new.I didn't even get the model right. Its a 1x591.I found a .001uf 1600 cap. From what I was reading,The higher voltage is ok to use.It calls for a 1000 volt cap in the description on the schematic. This is an interesting hobby. Its cheaper then old cars, and I can do it indoors.Im finding my radios in a local antique store. They are a bit pricey, but I save on shipping.Thank you for your help. Now I'll see if I can avoid lighting my nose up.

I looked up the diagram for an RCA 1X591 (I think that's what you meant Branson69). C9 is a coupling capacitor from the diode detector to the volume control. A .001uF 630V capacitor (much more common) will do fine in that position. Since it is an AC/DC set I recommend AC rated safety capacitors for C6 and C9. That is .1uF 250VAC for these (2) caps. These can be found fairly easily too.

I am very new to radio repair.I recently bought a RCA 1x519 that needs to be recapped. The first cap calls out for a .001uf 1000 volt cap.I can not find one of these on many sights I visited. Are the rare or impossible to find?Thank you ,new guy.
