Cell phone connector problem- No charge/int. chg.

There was an advertisement on TV About Batteries + and a comment that they can repair cell phones.
I was at one location in Madison WI. and the prices were lower.
They might even do a courtesy usb cleaning?

Also if you need either batteries or bulbs their a good recourse. IMHO Local or Online.

If you have a pressure Dust can or shop air maybe that should also work.

I was Watching on YouTube a class on beginners electronics repairs. The first thing is to look for power supply issues then secondly CONNECTORs.
These two items cause more problems than any others.

I know this is a relatively old thread, but I have had a few cell phones that have had the usb charge port begin to fail.  It might be worth looking both on YouTube and Ebay to find a new charge port assembly and a good tutorial on it's replacement.  I have done replacements on samsung galaxy phones for the cost of the port circuit, usually under $5.  Tool kits are also available sometimes specific to a phone.  I guess it would be wise to look for the tutorial first either to determine it's availability and then it's complexity.

Solution:
 Take a plastic or wooden toothpick and ==gently== scruffle about in the ear canal  [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] plug. Sounds simple enough, right?
 USB connector won't go all the way into the phone and the phone will either not charge or intermittently charge.

Solution:
 Take a plastic or wooden toothpick and ==gently== scruffle about in the USB power connector on the phone. Out will come a wad of lint or a small piece of paper.

 Plug cable back in and this will generally fix it.

 This is the 3rd time I have had to do this on this phone.
