I didn't realize that there were so many complicated machines used. I did notice that when they were heating the tungsten bars they were dipt in a small vat of mercury as one of the conductors of high current. Funny to hear the pronunciation of vacuum as vacu um, now I know why there's two u's.

They refer to them as Thermionic Valves.  Interesting film.
