Zenith model? Empty
PostSubject: Re: Zenith model?   Zenith model? I_icon_minitimeOctober 14th 2023, 5:34 am

Thank you everyone for all the help and hard work and hours that went into helping me.
The long hours put into this was not expected but very much appreciated.
I got this radio years ago. Nothing worked so unfortunately I shot gunned it, without a schematic... "yep stupid me", and replaced all the wax caps. I got the FM side working but not the AM. I saw 2 bumble bee caps and decided to replace them knowing their history of going bad. Then a flash of light and it no longer works. I'm sure it was the power tube but never checked it. Frustrated, I put it away for future attempts.
This one may be beyond my skill level which is very low. It looks extremely complicated but I'm willing to have another go at it soon.
Again ...Thanks.

I have a Zenith 725 chassis.  I have robbed it of almost everything usable.  All the IF cans had SMD.  I rebuilt the IF transformers, then used them in other radios.  I never could get the chassis to work right.  Mine was the 7-tube model with a 35B5 output tube.  I think, in hindsight, that the values of the mica caps in the IF cans are critical.  I used general values, and I believe that was a mistake.  These "general" values work okay in an AM circuit, but you need to be pretty much dead on in FM circuits.  I never had the cabinet for the chassis, so experimenting really didn't hurt anything.  Plus, its parts let more fortunate examples live.  I believe most any schematic for a 725 series would get you close enough that you could figure out the rest.  The biggest difference I'm aware of was the output tubes.  I dont have any experience with the 8-tube models.

There are quite a few models some are 8 tube and others are 7 tube.
your query was:

zenith 825----G725---H755 ?

9pin 6ab4  12ba6  12ba  12av6  19t8  35c5 or 35b5
-------------------------------------------------
Schematic is found :
BEITMANS VOL 15 PAGE 126-127

models T825F, G, and R, and Chassis 8T01

6bj6 6AB4 12AT7 12BA6 12BA6 12AU6 19T8 35C5
(FROM LEFT TO RIGHT CLOCKWISE 12AT7 6AB4 6BJ6 12BA6 12BA6 12AU6 19T8 35C5)
--------------------------------------------------

Pictures look the same so I think some models have almost what you may look for.

I cannot find the schematic for this model. The schematics I have found do not match the one I have.
