I find a lot of flat screen sets, and worked on many when I was in biz.
I found that there were only so many mfgr's. for the sets, and they made boards for many different brand names. Saving known good boards and back lights enabled me to troubleshoot and repair many other sets.
Also beware of companies selling parts online that have "Been tested".
I used to deal with 2 of the companies and dropped them like hot potatoes when the boards arrived covered in dust and the caps all puffed out. "Working & tested? "
Really?
When & how would a DOA board work, or the DOA replacement they sent me, or the next DOA one to replace that one? 6 boards later I finally fixed the original one.
One other parts chain even refused to refund the monies paid for a DOA board, but they offered to replace it, even though I was on the 4th one DOA.
So look at the fine print and ASK QUESTIONS! before ordering replacement boards.
One of the companies, when they started advertised that their boards were all from new "freight damaged" sets, and were tested.
At first, no problems, but later on, how can a board be "From new sets, freight damaged," when it is coated with thick dust and nicotine smoke?
Caveat Emptor.
Don't get hosed. Research the selling company first, then get WRITTEN refund/ return policies, and read them. No matter what the salesman tells you, If it ain't in writing, it ain't.
