GE Security Systems Empty
PostSubject: GE Security Systems   GE Security Systems I_icon_minitimeAugust 21st 2020, 12:51 am

I was just informed today, by my locksmithing "Guru" that the microprocessor controlled security systems made by GE are NLA
GE apparently quit making these. So parts are becoming extremely hard to find.

(I am being given 2 of the main boards to see if I can repair. Hopefully I will succeed.)

He said that the sensors another company makes are backward compatible to the GE sensors. That will save some money for people.

But the problem of CPU controllers is still there. All SMT tech too.

My biggest concern is EEPROM failures or PIC's. I am not up on burning these, or any real idea on how to do it. If I had the right equipment, it might be possible to clone the chips, but then there is possibly a copyright issue.
Need to go sit on my "Thinkin' Stump" for a while if that issue arises.
