| There is a company that makes "universal" capacitor mounting plates. Basically a nice PC board and you add your own caps to it. IIRC I posted about these in an earlier post. |

| Try these suppliers online. You have to do the searching of these suppliers online.
CapacitorsAntique Electronic Supply Bob’s Antique Radios & Electronics – Capacitors, AC power cords, and other items for the vintage radio restorer. Just Radios Mouser Electronics Mark Oppat’s Old Radio Parts Radio Daze Sal’s Capacitor Corner– Axial and radial film capacitors, X2 and Y2 AC safety caps, and electrolytic capacitors. Very good prices. Triode Electronics Vacuum Tubes, Inc.
I looked on Philcos online as he has an extensive list of caps. However, I didn't find your part no.

| I'd vote to restuff the filter cap can. IT will give a neater job. Not that tough to do. You can buy skinny caps at Mouser that makes restuffing the can easier. Nichicon makes the skinny caps. Good luck. _________________ Often in error, seldom in doubt.

| Here is a good video example of replacing canned caps with discrete caps and terminal strips, from a qualified and experienced repair technician in California, Jordan Pier, who does this work for a living. In this instance, he chose to put the new caps on top due to space, but with careful placement you may find space on the bottom side of the chassis. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IyITfKVgbg
He did mention the "Adapt-A-Cap" PCB adapters, but, you make sure that all of the caps that will attach to that board will fit properly. The fourth option, is, to "re-stuff" the original can, but, that requires more effort than most want to put into a radio, and some experience with being a craftsman as well. |

| You won't find exact replacements of those in stock that aren't also 50+ years old and ready to fail if put in service. Your two options are, you can have a replacement made at hayseed Hamfest ( you will have to send them info for a quote ) , or, learn to install a terminal strip on the bottom of the chassis near the area where that cap is, and use 3 modern, discrete capacitors to replace the values in that can. There's plenty of video examples on youtube for the work involved, it's not too complicated, and in the long run it is the best value and serviceable solution. For appearances sake, you can clip the inner capacitor tabs off of that cap and reinstall it, as the tabs to the capacitors, if used, may turn into dead shorts over time and cause a major component failure, so, they need to be isolated / removed to prevent future issues. |

| Hey All, New to this forum and was hoping someone could help me out. I am replacing the electrolytic capacitors in a Philco E676 radio and I can't find a replacement for the 3 section can-style capacitor. It's capacitance is 80uf/150vDC. I have never seen 3 section capacitors, does anyone know where I can buy a replacement or a substitute? Attached are photos of it. Thank you all! |
