I would think that the info might be in an old Allied or Newark catalog.
Also the older- 1960 n back QST's had ads and part numbers for the Hammerland capacitors.
Also likely the older ARRL handbooks too.

Hi Robert,

Try this link to one of the American Radio History webpages. There are (5) different Hammarlund Short Wave manuals listed there. Just scroll down until you find them. Their line of variable caps should be listed in the contents. Good luck.

Hi all,

I've been going through a small number of boxes here that hold an assortment of variable capacitors. Quite a few are Hammarlund brand.

While going through them, I'm measuring them for values and tagging them using one of those E-Bay testers that tests all components and identifies them as well. It occurs to me that somewhere out there must be some old catalogs from Hammarlund and others as well that would identify these items as to value. The part numbers are on just about all of them, so it would make it easy to identify them. As well, it might confirm whether or not my tester is measuring properly. I've had 3 so far that only measure 1pF difference between open and fully meshed.

Anyone of you folks have a digital copy of one of these catalogs or maybe a link to one? I've searched, but all I seem to be able to find is a Hammarlund catalog of their radios, which I already had in my collection of digital manuals. Any guidance will be appreciated.

Cheers!
